Current Hoaxes identified over the last weekend, note that all of these have occurred to residents in our Rural areas, though contact has always been made by phone. - Phone call enquiring whether you own a Dyson Vacuum cleaner followed by an attempt to arrange a service and a direct debit for regular servicing. This is not endorsed by Dyson and it is likely that the parts will cost far more than they would through Dyson, who I believe offer most parts for free in the first five years anyway.
- The fitting of an alarm for £1, I have mentioned this before, the money is made from alarm monitoring contracts which are compulsory with the fitting of the alarm and are very expensive.
- Crime research who claim to be affiliated to SAS Fire and Security have cropped up again claiming to be working with Hampshire Constabulary. They are not and are highly unlikely to ever be, as mentioned before internet research or word of mouth are good recomendations
